Hi there!
This week, the Mozilla foundation announced that the release of
Firefox 2.0 has been delayed until 24 October, with a Beta 2 release scheduled for 23 August. The release schedule has been changed to deal with last-minute fixes. According to the Firefox team some of the bugs still being addressed affect refresh, panel preferences, spellcheck and anti-phishing features.
Airplane manufacturer Boeing has announced that it will close its high-speed broadband
Connexion service because of a lack of interest. Web users are crying out for more and more Wi-Fi hotspots, but in-flight Wi-Fi just hasn't caught on. The closure marks an expensive u-turn for Boeing's six-year project to put satellite-based internet connections on its commercial airliners. Most airlines, mainly in the US, held off buying the service in the hope that cheaper, cellular network-based web services would end up dominating the market.
Web hosting provider
Hostway has partnered with internet service provider
WSI. Hostway's hosting services have been added to WSI's line of product offerings, enabling business owners to create and manage web presences at a discounted rate. Hostway offers WSI customers a select group of plans and features as well as access to three of Hostway's global data centre locations in London, Hannover and Chicago.
