Hi there!
This week, BT teamed up with Entriq, to provide a one-stop digital content delivery system for broadcasters. The service, which includes a digital store, enables clients to sell media content via the web and mobile platforms to consumers. The service has been selected by BT Vision to let consumers download video entertainment to their PCs and portable media players from the BT Vision website. The BT Vision download service is available at
www.downloadstore.bt.com.
Meanwhile, BT Wholesale has come under fire from angry
Euro1Net customers after the service was suspended following Euro1Net's failure to pay its invoices. About 5,500 customers had their broadband cut off in the dispute. Some customers had paid hundreds of pounds upfront for a two-year broadband connection with Euro1Net.
Microsoft has issued what should be the final version of Internet Explorer 7 before the new browser is released later this year for XP and Vista. Release Candidate 1 is being made available for
free download, though users are required to confirm they are running a legitimate version of Windows.
Two-thirds of all domain names are hosted in the US, according to new research from web statistics company
Ipwalk. The figure for the US shows almost twelve times as many domain names as the second placed country, Germany. Ipwalk says that there are now more than 77 million generic top-level domain (gTLD) names in the world (counting .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz domain names). The UK accounts for just under four per cent of all domains, narrowly beating China to fourth spot.
That's all from us this week, have a great weekend.
