EDITORIAL INTRO FOR ISSUE 171

“You’ve helped us generate a fantastic shortlist, which was sent out to our judging panel”

Four months ago, we began asking you for nominations for the .net Awards 2007 at www. thenetawards.com. Since then, you’ve helped us generate a fantastic shortlist, which was sent out to our judging panel of the web industry’s great and good. The judges have had their say, and this issue sees the culmination of the .net Awards 2007, as we announce the lucky winners and speak to the people behind the best of the web. (Rather than just announce a bunch of winners and be done with it, we’re delighted to bring you interviews with the people behind the winning sites, podcasts, technologies, and more.)

Elsewhere in this issue, we’ve got a provocative interview with Peter Sunde from The Pirate Bay, an insider’s guide to site optimisation from Google, and a Photoshop project on creating logos with impact. Enjoy the issue!
