EDITORIAL INTRO FOR ISSUE 176
“When so much of our working life is filled with frustration, we should salute our successes”
The first half of 2008 has been an amazing time for .net. At the start of the year we announced to the industry that our sales had gone up a whopping 38 per cent, highlighting the growing interest in web design and development. As if this wasn’t enough, in March we were notified that we’d been shortlisted for a major award by the PPA (Periodical Publishers Association). Good times!
Some people will find it distasteful that I’ve even mentioned our achievements, but when so much of our working life is filled with frustration, we should salute our successes. If your team has produced a piece of amazing work, don’t simply move on to the next brief. Take the afternoon off. Thank your team. Celebrate. But always remember that the ultimate thanks and respect should go to your audience. THANK YOU!
