EDITORIAL INTRO FOR ISSUE 197
“Technologies have been pushed to the limit, with areas such as 3D adding to the online experience”
It hit me back in August when we started to work on our annual Awards. I just couldn’t get the thought out of my head: this has been the most exciting year I’ve seen in web design and development – bar none.
Sure, in the past there have been more exciting periods for given sections of the web community. But 2009 feels like a year where you could look across the board and say that in terms of sheer quality, things have never been better.
User experience is now a key part of most major web builds. It’s never been easier for developers to realise their ideas, thanks the variety of tools available to them. Technologies have been pushed to the limit, with areas such as 3D adding to the online experience. And – more than ever – ours is an industry that shares its knowledge with others.
We were proud to play a small part in the story of 2009, and here’s to bigger and better things in 2010!
