EDITORIAL INTRO FOR ISSUE 198
“We didn’t want it to feel like a stuffy affair that didn’t reflect what we do in the magazine”
I seem to recall, back in the dim and distant past, writing an introduction to an issue of .net where I encouraged you to celebrate success whenever you get the chance. So I’m going to spend the next few paragraphs doing just that!
We recently held the inaugural .net Awards event in central London, attended by a host of our supporters and Awards nominees. Since I started editing .net back in 2006, we’ve done everything we can to make .net YOUR magazine. So, when we decided to hold an event, we didn’t want it to feel like a stuffy, corporate affair that didn’t reflect what we do in the magazine. Thankfully, due to those that attended, the help of our sponsors, and an awesome host (Paul Boag’s ego doesn’t need more inflating, I know) we needn’t have worried – the night was a huge success.
I’d like to thank everyone involved, and I hope next year’s event can be even bigger and better!
