This week, residents of a village near Cardiff became the first people in the UK to be connected to BT’s 21st Century Network. Wick is the first town to be upgraded to the next–generation infrastructure, which BT says is the most advanced telecoms network in the world. The 21CN project will enable the delivery of voice, data and broadband services to be quicker and cheaper than before, and according to BT Broadband, speeds could potentially reach 24MB/s everywhere.
Indiestore, the service that helps unsigned artists sell their music direct on the web, has launched a plug–in that lets users sell music tracks through their social networking profiles such as MySpace. The plug-in adds an Indiestore Flash player to the users’ homepage or profile on social networking sites, listing all the tracks that the artist has on their Indiestore. Oh, and a little thing called Windows Vista finally launched this week to corporates. Us humble home users still have to wait until January
