This week, Adobe announced that it was releasing parts of the Flex platform under an open source licence. The source code to the ActionScript components from the Flex SDK have already been available, and soon you’ll also get the compilers, debuggers and libraries under a Mozilla Public licence. Adobe expects to turn the Flex framework into a full open source project by the end of the year. Great news for developers!

Excellent news site Newsvine has been relaunched and it’s even better. The new version, called Evergreen, includes a customisable homepage (a la Netvibes) with the option of adding your personal news feeds, more localised content (Newsvine determines your location by your computer’s IP address), a visualisation tool and News in Pictures.

No week without a Google launch, of course. This week, we’re treated to Google Web History, a service that enables you to keep a complete archive of your web browsing history.
