This week, the blogosphere was shaken up by the news that blogger Kathy Sierra received a number of death threats on her blog, which forced her to cancel a presentation at the ETech conference. It turned out not to be an isolated case and the blogging community started discussing a possible code of conduct. For more on online civility, check out the exclusive interview with Six Apart’s queen of blogging, Mena Trott, in the latest issue of .net, which hits the shelves today.
Elsewhere in our May issue, you can find a Q&A with Jajah co-founder Roman Scharf. The VoIP phone service this week announced its customer base had reached two million users. It’s a great achievement, considering the company announced 1.2m users in January - and it’s only been going a year!
Also in the news, YouTube revealed the winners of its first Video Awards. There were seven categories, and the winners, including the likes of Ask A Ninja, the Free Hugs Campaign and US rock band OK Go, will get a special trophy to be unveiled soon. YouTube said the winners had “changed the landscape of how a ‘star’ is defined”.
Have a great weekend!
